Thinking of Bidding on a Enclosed trailer in the USA ,, Do enclosed trailers have VIN numbers?

A trailer is not a vehicle. It has to have a vehicle to pull it.

Here is something that will blow your mind.
Oklahoma does not require or provide license plates for trailers which are privately owned.
You will not see plates on any trailer which is not used commercially.
Go figure, ya think we have a trailer theft problem here?
Some group fights legislation every time it is introduced to register trailers.
No state inspection either.

You need to ask the seller. Manufactured trailers should have a VIN.
The problem arises with home built and older trailers.

A title and registration is required for trailers operated over 3,000 pounds. A title and registration is not required for trailers operated at or less than 3,000 pounds gross weight unless used for hire or rental. Title and registration is encouraged for these vehicles that will be used on roads outside the state of Wisconsin, as other states' registration laws may be different.

I am pretty sure it was a scam......
I requested the vin Number on a trailer I was bidding on....
NO reply....... I withdraw my bid and the Item disappears...
who can you trust these days........

Can't help here in FL homemade trailers do not have VID but have to registered(pay for a tag) professionally made trailers require their own VID. We do have a trailer theft problem people steal then take the #'s off an register it as homemade.
