Top 10 things I learned this weekend

#1. There isn't anyone from this board that I've met and didn't like. You guys are all top notch. It was very nice to meet everyone and I hope to see you all again when we thaw out in the spring.

#2. Never... Ever... take a hotel recommendation from Postal again. That has to be the worst night's sleep I've had in a well...ever. Mattress was like a rock.

And um, the couple next door filming the documentary for the effectiveness of Viagra. Entertaining for the first half hour. But the SIX hours after that was a bit much. (I'm not exaggerating either. I have witnesses!)

#3. Pretty much everyone there could ride the shite out of the Bus. You guys are better riders than I'll probably ever be.

#4. Don't pinch the nerve in your back (see #2 above, hehe) as you go into turn number 2. This will result in an immediate exhale, which in turn results in a fogged visor, which is not good! Going into that turn, I was too fast and was already braking. Once the visor fogged I laid on the back brakes too hard and skidded. Ended about 3 feet from the guard railing facing a big granite wall. Probably the only time I ever really had to check my jockeys. I didn't think I was going to be able to stop.

#5. Remember to adjust the suspension before hitting the twisties!!!!!!

To say the bike was not inspiring confidence on Saturday morning was an understatement. It just felt weird and every turn seemed liked the rear wanted to stutter or slide. I thought it was me, but after lunch driving back up 81, I remembered that I had tightened up the rear suspension earlier this year. 50% of it was probably me, but the other 50% might have been the rear being too stiff.

I also put a pair of dogbones on last year and dropped the rear 1.5". I knew the geometry of the bike would change, but it feels VERY different in the turns now that it did before.

I just don't feel confident with it. Which causes me to hesitate. Hesitation, not good. I think I'm going to take the bones off over the winter and go back to stock.

Any thoughts on the suspension and bones issue?

#6. Damn I'm out of shape. Its diet and exercise time for me. I did 8.5 hours on Saturday and man my @SS was sore when I got home.

#7. Riding a motorcycle is not like racing in NASCAR. There ARE right-hand turns in the mountains. Gotta remember that one.

#8. GMBusa just might be as medically screwed up as I am. But I think I got a thing or two on him. Get your self squared away man. I'm really regretting not taking better care of myself over the last 10 years. Both of us are way too young for this crap.

#9. I've got to hit some twisties and get some practice in before spring. No way I'm getting smoked at the Dragon in April.

#10. I ran out of things here. This is just filler space.

Ehhh, nice write up, but where's the PIX???

er.... sorry about number two. Anna was trying, yet again, to "prove her love" for me. It was our third day of that, and, frankly, she was starting to bore me

Sorry Dude ANNA K. is mine. She tells me that every night right after I deliver the tenth o-gazm. Then she puts me to sleep with a backrub for working so long albeit effortlessly to please her.

Oh by the way that happens during REM sleep.

Screw the pix of Drew! Where's the pix WWJD took of Anna that night?!

Too funny man!

Wha? Funny? Damn, I was trying to be serious.

I'm surprised that no-one has commented on the suspension or lowering links issue. Maybe I just suck in twisties and should only drive in straight lines???

Suspension wise, we can fix that, it just takes some tweaking.

My busa is lowered too. I scraped my feet several times.
