So my youngest turned 15 this weekends and we decided that we would have a long family day full of activities so we told TK to invite a few friends for the day.

We started out at IHOP for breakfast and we just talked and it was good, all cell phones down and just open discussion with some young men. We left breakfast and went to the 45th Infantry Museum in OKC for just a little education before we started a day of fun. My son and his two friends walked around outside and were able to see many of the vehicles that the 45th Infantry have used in different conflicts all over the world. They boys were able to see how big the tanks really were and able to touch them and see how solid they are.

They were able to climb up under the landing gear in an A7D (one of my favorite jets) and look at all of the hydraulics and electrical just in that one area.

We were met inside by a volunteer who was a vietnam vet and knew literally everything about everything inside the displays, he knew the history, the vocabulary and technology and how things worked. The boys got a very up front and personal tour of the guns and weapons used by the 45th and against them.

It was an amazing time to see my son "Get it" and his friends become very serious and ask some very legitimate questions about how and why things happened.

Very cool - next time I'm in the area, I'd like to visit that museum! Hopefully, my kid might be with me too...

Nice pictures and tanks. I recently visited the largest armored museum in the world called Latrun.

there are over 100 tanks and armored vehicles on display and a cool Sherman tank on a tower.
