Will an 08 top clamp lowering tree work on an 02

I don't think so. I have a Gen II if you want me to take some measurements. ?

Having both bikes I cam tell you that they will fit. But you will have issues around the ignition switch as the gen II top clamp will have a larger opening for the cover around the switch
