Tobin or corbin?

Which do you prefer?

The stock seat is crowding the lower torso against the tank (uncomfortable to say the least) ...... Either aftermarket seat probably takes care of that problem.

It seems both have a backwards slant to them.

Corbins aren't for everyone. They use the hardest damned foam I have ever seen! But it is there for the right reason. Once you let it break (5K miles) in it is a comfy place to be. High quality materials throughout! The Tobin is extremely popular on here though I haven't ever sat on one.

Exactly, gave the one I had for my TLR away. Tobin is the best for the Busa (in my opinion) by far

Never had a Corbin, but sat on a couple of 'em.. I won't give up my Tobin! BTW, this will probably get moved to polls by a Mod tomorrow...

Perhaps I should not vote just yet, but...
I just put a Tobin on my bike and love the way it looks, fits and sits...
Now I sit down in the bike, not up on top as it seems to feel...
and I like having my nuts against the tank and the Hump pad holding me there, no more sliding back on a hard launch...
So, therefor, I say, Tobin...

You can ask for the softer foam material when you order a Corbin. Have no experience with Tobin but have had a few Corbins. Very satisfied with them.

I got Tobin this summer and I love the look and the feel. Very snug and secure feel. For the money you can't beat them.

I'd just like to get mine off of the tank! I sat on a ZX 14 the other day and I am pretty sure I would be singing soprano on the first hard stop.

Neither. Stocker is more comfy to me. But, then again, a lot of people don't do 800-1000 mile days.

I love the look of the Tobin I bought, I hate the numb butt is causes after about 100 miles though (the pad is way too thin). I brought another stocker to my local upholstery guru along with a gel insert and my Tobin. He is making me the same shape with the gel insert, an extra inch of seat space (I am slightly cramped on my Tobin, long legs and short torso) and covering it in Black and Red Stingray in the same pattern I had done on the Tobin. He offered to do the stitch work (Kanjis), I said no. I should have it back Friday this week and post up pics and pricing. I bought the Gel insert from "Butt Buffer" at Americade last year for $89. I bought the extra stocker from a member on here for $45. I never asked how much the Stingray hydes were (I wanted them and had to buy two because of the colors). And labor is $70/hr. This guy has done stuff for my boat and is top notch. I'll let you all know when it's done.

I guess we tend to be brand loyal, I've had about 5 Corbins over the years and have always loved their comfort, looks and durability. They are usually more expensive but since I went to their factory in Holister, CA and sat in their restaurant eating a cheeseburger while watching a technician build my seat through glass......I'm really a believer! The other thing is, I need a consistant space all the way back to the plastic hump (no pads) for sliding butt off for cornering (I do understand how good the Tobin pad thing looks and functions for drag racing however). Also, I really agree with the building philosophy of Corbin....hard, larger swept surface area for less psi exerted on butt area...it is an all day saddle for me. Raydog

I just bought a used Corbin and I like it. I have a Corbin butt apparently....I like the wider firmer sitting surface. I have ahd Corbins on every bike I have ever owned, after trying the stock seat out for a while.

The Corbin keeps me from sliding forward against the tank, and it also comes up higher on the tank to not scratch the tank.

I am also sitting lower which seems to reduce the stress on my arms.

I got it used on Ebay for $125.
