the bluing of Ti pipes is natural... wrap or not wrap they'll blue as soon as you heat them up/turn the bike on. The one thing you want to do with new Ti pipes before firring up your bike is to completely wipe them down. Any oil from your skin will leave finger print marks that wont come off... I have a partial thumb print from where I handled one end of the can and forgot to wipe down.
I can only speak for Ti and they will not cause damage or additional discoloration. Yea, if the wrap gets really soaked they'll smell while the water steams off. When I fart it smells to though... it's nothing long term.
to wrap or not to wrap is up to you. If you need to reduce heat then wrap... if you're trying to bling things out then don't wrap. If you've chromed your pipes and brake calipers then sell it and be a harley!
