Okay so I bought my 08 Busa in December and now have 4,900 miles and the steel threads started showing today. Is that normal for bridgestone stock tires? I don't do burn outs or anything really abusive, what's up?
Also what are some good replacement tires that handle well and may last a little longer?
Any suggestions from you experts out there?
How much are replacements?
???

The Michelin Pilot Powers are a good choice. $275 for the set at your door. They warm up quickly and keep a neutral feel even when worn. I got 4000+ miles from my last set,.............and I ride somewhat aggressively.

So does 4,900 seem right for stock bridgestones?

My BT56 went away in 1700 miles. So,......4900 is excellent IMO. One thing to remember about the Busa. ANY throttle opening is detrimental to your tires!!!!!

I am SOLD on the Metzeler M3 for Twisti Riding. If You Allways go in a Strait Line then they might Not Be the Answer. The Ride can Be a Little Rough. Actually thinking about Getting some Qualifiers a Little Earlier because of the Ride :dunno:

Try BT021 or Power Road 2CT if you want better wear from the tires. I only got 5500 from my stock tires, and I ride mostly on the sides (AKA corners).

:thumbsup:05 busa - used to run the stock Bridgestones and did fairly well mileage wise. Rolling the throttle eats tires whether doing burnouts or not. Busa's do that. Running Dunlop Qualifiers now. Don't have a mileage on them as they are new. I do know that you have to get the right Bridgestone series or they don't last. Bought one new rear making sure I got the recommended Busa series (think it was J) and it lasted me two years, but I don't burn out either. Had Michelin Power Pilots but got a bad front that caused me to take a spill (can happen to any of them), but I went back to the tires I trust - Dunlop. Buy what you are comfortable with but make sure they are matched to the Busa.

Thanks for the comments. I went with the Michelin Power Pilots, got a rear for 180.00 probably could have done better but I needed it right away.
