For years now I have always changed/balanced my own tires. Breaking the beads was always a chore but I had made an impromptu fulcrum point on a bench at home and used it for my bead breaker. Then I read this guys site and decided to build my own.

My bead breaker is now bolted to the wall over my work bench and I got a piece of all thread to bolt the wheel down to the bench in two different positions 1)to break the bead 2) to actually work on the tire. The bead breaker worked sweet. The only thing I did differently than this guy was that I did not have a 14" car tire so I made my own wooden basket that worked perfectly after an early prototype proved to small to clear my rotors. After the evidence was disposed of in my fire pit
the new one worked great with a towel draped over it to avoid damaging the wheel.
