Tire bushings

I pulled off my rear tire to replace it for the first time since I bought my 2002 Busa. Inside there are rubber busings that plug into the center of the rim. Two of mine were twisted. Do I NEED to replace them? A friend said to just put them back into place. He also said to clip the pointed rubber tips that plug in to the rim and just set the rubber bushing back into place. Is that acceptable?

I ride the bike pretty hard and at high speeds. I've never notice any serious vibration or problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
