Thunderstorms in the south east US on may 9/15

I was on a flight home from Mexico last night when we were diverted around a huge thunderstorm system in the south eastern US. I snapped a couple decent pictures through the window and I figured I would share them.
I have always heard storms are more impressive from above but never really believed it until now.
