Throttlemeister Gap

Received my Throttlemeister today and once I installed it, I was not pleased with the gap between the grip and throttle lock. Why didn't they mold the friction sleeve to fill the gap?
After spending about an hour at the hardware store looking for trim to fill this gap I found an O-Ring used for poly sprayers that did the job.

Did you trim up the platic sleeve?

FYI this is actually a set I bought for my Gen I that I put on my Gen II

I've never had a gap like that on any of my bikes. It looks like the rubbing stopper isn't pushed in all the way. It has always sat flush with the end of the grip on my bikes. Double check that you have the stopper all the way on.
