My father was 11 ,and these were his . He carried the Bowie knife , and .22 rifle.
The 30-30 was only a special occasion for him . How times have changed .

The Solingen steel knife's were given to me today. The city of blades. They were dull till I put a new edges on both.

They will now be my woods tools on hikes while camping.

(That’s) a knife! Wutta find! I had a bolt action single shot .22 when I was a kid. After racking a round I still had to pull the ‘plunger’ back to fire or put the safety on. It was quite accurate too. That model 94 might really be worth something. My 30-30 is a Marlin, works well but isn’t a Winchester.

Old 30 30 on paper free standing. Was several inches left ,but after a windage adjustment it's on now .
Fyi I had to straighten its barrel when I put it together out of box o parts after sitting 20 years .

Nice! Try to test yourself next time by shooting free standing, every (second) for 5-6 rounds. It’s just enough time to recover the recoil and reset your aim. May take longer with a lever action but it’s a really good test of your (real life situation) abilities with a handgun.
