The World's Fastest Motorcycle Riders

Meta title: fastest landspeed rider loring speed hayabusa mile Bonneville

Our friend RYAN OSTERGARD has LEAPED onto this list,
with his new track record at Wilmington Ohio,
in the May 2015 1.0 mile meeting.

This is also remarkable since his wife,
the beautiful JENNIFER ROBERTSON,
will be sitting next to him on "The List."

With a "sum of speeds," of 487 mph, I believe
that makes them "nobility" as
the 1st couple of speed
in the motorcycle world.

Show him and them your appreciation !

Just last weekend comes LES MARSH
from England's Elvington national meeting.

Reporter Ken12R writes:

"Les Marsh who now holds the UKs
fastest grandfather record at 249.74 mph"

VERY productive beginning of the season
and we are not yet into June !

Quick shout-out for KEN ROBINSON.

In the recent speed trials on the Salt of Australia,
Ken posted a fine 232.889 mph on a normally - aspired
Hayabusa running in the 1350cc class.

This is a fine time for an NA Busa anywhere,
and we can all be proud of what Ken accomplished in Oz !

Well, June is drawing to a close, and so far we have
the following folks who will either appear for the first time,
or advance their placements on “The List.â€

News Flash !

We have just heard that Becci Ellis
took a tumble in England while slowing
from a run at over 250 mph.

No firm reports on her condition, but she has been
photographed with a cast on her left hind leg,
but with a smile.

Ordinary braking calls out for a slow-down distance,
at 0.4g, of more than a mile.

Her stop was no doubt both quicker,
and more disconcerting......

Here's a you-tube clip of one of MY riders,
is the same sort of situation at Bonneville in about 2008.

Use your volume control,
and look quickly at the time slip......

A more lengthy report for Becci and her crash.....

World's fastest woman crashes

I had a similar thing happen at Maxton
about 15 years ago at Maxton while running
for record on a turbo ZX9.

At something over 200 MPH, the air tried
to "lift me off the bike." I was able to maintain
control only by "overusing" my abdominal muscles
while I decelerated safely down to a manageable speed.

The result was a one foot (12 inch) tear
in my abdominal wall, which I still have.

Later, I went 251mph on another bike.....

Let's hope for Becci that she returns as well,
and sets a 270 mph mark, as is her goal.

RYAN OSTERGARD, posting a 253.351 mph
at Loring in the 1.5 mile run, moves up from 46th place
barely-on-the-list, to almost-certainly in the TOP 30......

In addition to increasing his placement by
about 20 (!) spots in only 1/2 season,
he teams with his talented wife
JENNIFER ROBERTSON
(47) Jennifer Robertson……(Johnny Cheese)………. 243.6…Busa…Bee…2012

They now have a combined speed of about 496 mph.

How close is THAT to the magical 500 MPH
for the two of them !

GREAT start to the 2016 season !

At 256.7 mph, MIKE GARCIA joins
The Motorcycle 250 mph Club

The Motorcycle 250 mph Club also
welcomes HOUSEIN ALSOWAIGH at 255.3 mph

The Club welcomes MIKE GARCIA, from scenic SOLDOTNA Arkansas,
riding a turbo Hayabusa tuned by RICHARD SIMS MOTORSPORTS.

Mike hammered the 1.5 mile long Mojave track to the
special speed while fighting wind and bad weather.

This beats Mike's former best of 249. mph, and jumps him
up from 36th place on the World's Fastest list to the 21st spot.

A fabulous improvement of fifteen (15) places
at the beginning of the season.

The Motorcycle 250 mph Club also welcomed HOUSEIN ALSOWAIGH

HOUSEIN ALSOWAIGH , ran the Beeville Mile's scary track at 255.3 mph.
Tuned by KEVIN BLAISE of BLAISE CYCLE in south Florida, the turbo Hayabusa
moved ALSOWAIGH of from 249.6,(and 31st on the World's Fastest List)
to a new high of 24th.

Let's show these brave men our appreciation for
difficult accomplishments, under less-than-perfect conditions,
and their over 250mph speeds so early in the season !

Maybe this signals a return to the glory of former seasons,
when 250 mph speeds were almost expected,
and many men and women went VERY fast.......

Fabulous start to the season !

This just in from Wilmington

Ransom Holbrook = 244.2997 mph
NO TURBO, just nitrous !

Fast time of the meet,
Fast time of the year.
Beat all the cars......

That puts him on the World's Fastest Riders
List in about 45 place.

(MOST worthy for a first-effort to make
the list in the mile with NO TURBO !)

THREE big moves on the world's fastest list
of fifty, and it's only the beginning of May !

Preliminary results from last weekend's Loring AFB
results put Brevon Scott

as high as 30th on "The List,"
with a one mile speed of

251.816 mph

We are waiting to see if he went on to
a better time in the 1.5 mile results.

After last year, this year
looks like a landslide

Results from over last weekend
in Elvington, England:

Steve Bland Hayabusa Turbo 251.744 mph
(Steve jumps from nowhere to about 30th,
WHAT a rookie performance)

Les Marsh Hayabusa Turbo 248.464 mph
(UK's fastest Grandfather stays in the game)

Mike Grainger Hayabusa Turbo 244.073 mph
(FINE rookie performance to make the
TOP 50 Fastest riders in the world !)

WOW !!!!!!!
Pretty impressive all around !
I am not sure how reliable
that speed is, but the whole film
in VERY impressive.
IF I was to find fault:
1) The timing in on board, which today
is probably pretty accurate IF it is GPS based.
IF it is wheel-speed based on the rear wheel,
than with the usual and expectable 5-10% wheel spin, the 400 KPH would be substantially reduced.
2) We don't know the length of the run (yet)
although that could be calculated from the video.
3) The run travels from one bridge-suspension arch past the other. Suspension bridges have their high point near the middle of the span. That means the last (fast) half of the run is DOWNHILL. Is that fair.
4) STILL: Impressive for a factory-issued, over-the-counter bike, and FASTER than any recorded speed for ANY MotoGP bike, EVER !
Cheers, Scott

An absolutely TREMENDOUS achievement.

NO TURBO, just “The Bottle !”

Virtually STOCK-SHAPE plastic

This should jump Ransom up from the "mid 40's"
to about 30th place on "The List !"

Ransom has been working for this moment for

almost 15 years…….a little here, a little there,

and the bike sounded like it “had a little left !”

NEVER GAVE UP !

SHOW him your appreciation for a

“Best in World History” performance !

SCOTT DAVIS HITS 266+++MPH AT LORING TODAY !

That is a superb accomplishment !

Scott has been putting in MANY
hours for MANY years, and now
it is paying off in tangible results.

He has done it carefully, and done it right !

I think 266+mph is about 6th on
the "world's fastest list !"

1st guy to "break into" the
top six since Al Lamb in 2012 !

BIG deal !
