If you enjoy this music I encourage you to youtube a couple of live performances. His original sessions (haha to his credit) were way, way too loud and boisterous for the recording equipment. Thus the recordings were super saturated and lost a great deal of definition. In the live performances of later years, (in between the horn solos), close your eyes and pay particular attention to the piano. You can hear the nuance of every finger on every key. I personally think that it is awesome to finally hear the instrumentation that was intended to come through. And there is nothing better than a pumping piano in rock.
