As some of you know I am not happy with the mealsy pay increase I got at work so I have been looking for new jobs. I got a hit finally and will interview on wed in a town about 2 hours from where I live, it would mean moving but if the price is right

I'm gone.

Sucks for the company I am at, they will lose about 900,000 dollars when I leave because the customer will cancle the remainder of the 1.2 mil contract we are on now. I told the CEO what the customer said about if I'm gone the contract goes too, but I dont think he fully understands what I am saying. Oh well he has been warned and I told him a month ago I would be looking for a new job about now so he would need to meet my salary requirements to guarntee my employment. I am expecting a much larger offer from the new company than I told my CEO it would take to keep me back then, so cant wait to see waht happens if it all goes through and I tell him it will cost him 10k more than a month ago!!!!

keep your fingers crossed for me

Good luck to ya; fingers crossed.

At my company, we've had people threaten with the 'I want more money or I'm gone' line and they are escorted out the door...

Best of luck to you. If you're going to be out this way on Wed, let me know. If you're still around late, let's get together for dinner and bullshid stories.

Those people obviously were not worth their salt.

An employer will pay a reasonable and justifiable pay increase if the employee is productive and considered an irreplacable asset. My wife, who is grossly underpaid IMO, just recently gave notice to her employer and the owner has seen the light and is changing the entire companie's pay structure.

I'm going the other direction, heading up to Farmington by way of grants and Thoreau.

We do need to get together one of these days, if this all goes through I will be able to get a bike again

kinda hard to do when it means your sending $900,000 out the door with them

I still have a job and seriously doubt I am in any danger of losing it. I am not burning any bridges just keeping them informed on whats going on. The CEO knows my stance and told me he did not want to keep me from something better. (code talk for you wont find anything so we will just keep paying you nothing to do everything)

(smonroe86 @ Aug. 15 2007,00:00) whats a CEO?
CEO = Chief Executive Officer

Usually the top dog of a company, ar at least the top figure head. Many companies have CEO's, CFO's (chief financial officer), CIO (Chief Informations Officer) etc.

At my company we have all 3 of the above - my boss is the CIO since I work in the IT (Information Technology) dept.

Enough acronyms yet, or should we share more?
