"We are overtaxed as it is," Doris said bluntly.

Obama started out feisty. "Well, let's talk about that, because this is an area where there's been just a whole lot of misinformation, and I'm going to have to work hard over the next several months to clean up a lot of the misapprehensions that people have," the president said.

He then spent the next 17 minutes and 12 seconds lulling the crowd into a daze.

His answer was more than 2,500 words long !
Seriously, 17 times longer than the Gettysburg Address.... ::11

What I would have given for his ability in 8th grade speech class !

I miss the way Bush would answer questions:
"Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country."

"fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

Really miss the good old days. Hell I may be the only one who remembers Bush. Seems like History just started in Feb. 09.

Hey, i'd be quick to wash my hands of that too.

I miss the "Its hard work"

thats funny.

we have complicated and unique problems in this country that are not black and white. i can't imagine taking simple questions from simple people and being asked about a near 3thousand page bill and 'health care'. there is a reason there are a thousand books about health care. it's complicated. none the less that was funny and clearly obama likes to be in control and enjoys the sound of his own voice

Maybe the tactic was to blur and lull the people in attendance for such a long time so he doesn't have to directly answer the question and also that he doesn't have to get more questions like that coz he knows she's right. By the time he was done I'm sure many were near slumberland:laugh:

You gotta be kidding me...so the people asking questions are..."simple" and
not up to "the enlightened liberal (progressive/socialist) level"...:rofl::rofl:

It's not complicated, there shouldn't be a 3000 page :bs: bill loaded with earmarks
and special deals along with...(YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME) the govt take over
for funding COLLEGE LOANS!!!

Obama is full of it and a master of deception.

There is a BIG difference between a mediocre to poor president and one who is a
full blown Socialist.

I'd rather have a President wallow in incompetence than one that is pushing
full speed towards Socialism of the United States.

Yeah I'd take Bush in a second over the Obamanation...and twice on Sundays.

Hell yeah...

Tell that to the over 4000 young men and women who went to war and died in iraq for...oops my bad.

Tell that to the over 4000 young men and women who went to war and died in iraq for...oops my bad.

Tell ya what...why don't you quit the broken record :bs:

Did we forget, Congress and many of your democrat hero's voted and said "GO"
for the war? They got the same info the President got and said...I'll say it
again..."GO". So he didn't do it alone, I know it's all hip and in vogue to play
the blame Bush game, but doesn't it get old since he's not been in office for a year and half...

I'm not in Iraq so I reserve the right to say I don't know what is going on,
but I did speak to quite a few soldiers who were serving (when I was working
in the gunshop) and they all said (to a man) don't believe the :bs: that you
hear on the media, "we are doing good work there".

Now I am sure opinion goes both ways with the soldiers however it does seem
like a lot of them are re-upping for mulitple tours. Again I'm not there so...

I will also point out, regardless of the individual's personal leanings...the true
picture or the Iraq conflict will be decided by history (far in the future).
Much the same way Reagan took a lot of abuse for Reagonomics during his
presidency and then was later credited with bringing down the Soviet Union
without firing a shot. We don't know what the final history of Iraq will be.
Iraq could become a stable democracy and a huge ally in the middle east to
the USA (wont hold my breath but you DON'T KNOW)

Lastly, A year and half later....Obama is still there....:wtf:

yeah your right....your bad.

I know what I speak of because I have skin in the game. My kid is a Sargent in the Marines with two tours in Iraq and my wife and I have spent months at a time scared to death and sleepless nights that we would get that knock on the door.
So I have heard it directly about what was going on in Iraq during the time my kid was there.
I would of switched places in a heart beat. You can never know what it is like to not know what your kid is doing and the calls are few back home.
We were a blessed Family and all turned out OK.
I do blame the Dems for giving the OK but the President is the one who leads. if he had not rushed into Iraq it would not have happen, period.

"Yeah your right your bad"
Not sure what that means but sounds like your an *******, could be wrong.

Hmmm...???

Well first of all let me thank your Son for his service and all who served as well
as the families who "serve" with them. I also honor the men and women who paid
the ultimate price.

I don't have a Son in Iraq so all I can do is a poor job of imagining how tough
that would be. However, dealing with the stress of a child in harms way and
the issue of the objective being worthwild are two sepperate and independent
issues.

Are you stating that the war is a complete waste of life and resources? Maybe
the soldiers I talked to didn't know what they were talking about...
(albeit it was a few years ago) Again, I'm not saying one way or another.
No first hand experience and I don'ttrust the media...what I'm leaving open,
is the possiblity that the end result might yet be a possitive (not in terms of
lives lost, don't mis-understand) but wont be realized for decades...or it
could just be a total failure.

You may blame the democrats as well but you didn't mention them, yes I know
the President is Commander-in-Chief but he doesn't go to war without the
CONSENT OF CONGRESS...you don't mention them, it's all Bush Bush Bush :firing:

I had the thought that years after Bush was out of office the blame Bush
game might just fade away...what was I thinking. Not defending Bush, he
was a disappointment to me as well...just tired of the blamestorming game.

I posted this so we may chuckle a bit .
See how I made no derogatory comment about him and in fact gave him a compliment on his speaking capability .
Like I said , I wish I could BS like that .

I don't see much diff between the two parties anymore , really I don't .
Bush and the repubs would have us all living under a police state where we are all so scared Bin Laden is gonna blow up our own personal homes.
Obama and the dems now will have us live under a socialist govt controlled police enforced give us your guns and trust us country that ain't much different as far as you and I are concerned .
All a bunch of crooks only there to serve THEMSELVES !
No diff than ancient Rome .

As far as Iraq goes .
Justyntym it was the Bush/Cheney intel org that led us all down the path of looking for WMDs in Iraq.
The dems only went along with what they like many others believed to be accurate intel info .
It was sold to them , us and the world at the UN by one of the most respected men in the world at the time , Colin Powel.
Remember him with his pointer showing trucks of chems being driven into Syria .
They hung him out like a cheap ho .
Shamed him publicly so much it ended his career an aspirations , read his book .
Completely Fd him they did and he learned a valuable lesson about politics .
Lesson was , there are no friends when that is concerned .
He is the one who should have been our first black president and I would have voted for him .
After being seen as the tip of the spear that was the lie he retired from the mil never to seek the public office he had been contemplating .
The fact we went to war was a long continuing act of aggression toward Iraq going back to desert storm.
No fly zones and not allowing simple medicines to be imported wound up causing the deaths of more than they have killed with seven yrs of bombing !
The repubs have led us down this path for TWENTY YEARS NOW !
Why do folks only see this as a seven year war when US troops have been there since 1990 ?
Now that we are there this time around I will say we are doing good .
Billions spent now hopefully will go to create a stable ally .
Iraq has always been an ally of the US. Saddam supported Reagan .
Our govt gave it millions in assistance during the ten yr war against Iran.
We have always seen Iraq as the lessor of two evils as far as those two are concerned .
It is us that has always decided whether Iraq was in the circle of trust this week or not , not them.
The news never not once in seven years has shown our troops installing any of the building size generators I have sent over there.
Never not once shown them installing fresh water systems I have sent over there .
Never not once shown them completing and opening they fifty schools we have built .
All they ever show is doom and gloom .
If it bleeds it leads and troops smiling with little happy Iraqi kids gets old I guess ?
I have been there a few times but not in a mil fashion.
In plain clothes I have walked amongst average Iraqis and spoke English to all of them cuz my Arabic sucks (sorry dad).
All to a one were more than happy to have me there.
I have never drank more tea in my life !
Come please have a cup of tea and tell me.....
Sure there are places you can't go or you would wind up the next star of an Internet video but it's no diff than twenty miles north of here.
There is a neighborhood I dare not go just the same and just as dangerous .
I was in Iraq yrs ago before desert storm .
I went on a trip with my dad and was a goofy kid walking around who knew no better.
Still here to say it ain't as bad as CNN will have you think .
We had lunch several times in Paris style streetside cafes .
Sure the Bath party ruled Iraq with an iron fist and folks disappeared but you did not have to worry about being blown up at the veggie market.
It was safer for the average Iraqi when Saddam was in power.
Now it's still an active war zone , not safe.
Hopefully yrs from now Iraq will be safe for the average citizen and once again stand on it's own and be our friend.
The Iraqi people are like elephants .
They never forget and while now it seems like we are liberators who should have left long ago they won't forget we did free them from Saddam.
When things settle again overthere Iraq will be thankful that I can promise .

WHEW , doing my best Obama impersonation here !

As far as the blame game goes .
Again typical Washington politics .
It will never stop .
In my life I remember Carter blaming , Reagan blaming , Bush sr blaming , Clinton blaming , Bush jr blaming and now Obama blaming .
Far as I know it was going on before I started paying attn so neither side is better or worse when it comes to the blame game .
Just business as usual !
I almost wish Iraq would invade the USA and topple our govt chasing all the crooks down like playing cards.
Then we could start over like them .
That's the only way I see real change coming cuz we are all fat and lazy ..

There did I make it three minutes ?
Boy I hate giving public speeches !
How'd I do ?
