The going rate for advanced rider training

This year I'm finally gonna take an advanced course. The place that used to provide training is "taking the summer off". However they link to another outfit that provides training, that is also local.

For a one day class (8hours) they charge $325. Does that seem on par with what others are seeing? It's not that I'm unwilling to pay, just a little sticker shock. The textbooks are provided, but everything else is on the student.

Here in Ca. The sheriffs dept. training course is 200.00. Its the training course for all the cops, But not the CHP. 150.00 for the 8 hr. course, 50.00 for the use of there bike. I am signed up for two courses.

Seems like it would be better to do a trackday.
Those guys can teach you more about riding than a "trained" cop any day.
Who needs a textbook? You already know how to ride.
Alot of people can operate a motorcycle, not nearly as many can actually ride one.
