The "Flying Tiger" gets CFD Scanned

First off, just so that you know, CFD is Computational Fluid Dynamics. We scanned the "Flying Tiger" with lasers and cameras and created a computer model that will be used with a Fluid Dynamics program (virtual wind tunnel) to analyze our new ultra high speed bodywork.

Thought all of you would get a kick out of it.

Here are some pics.

We jacked up the bike 8" so that we could get some scan slices on the lower edges of the belly pan.

Here is cool shot of the twin lasers and wide angle high res camera on a lower arm. There were 3 cameras, 1 left, 1 right and 1 above.

We were able to get 1" scan slices for the computer model. We scanned the entire bike with body work. We scanned the bike with bodywork with me on it leathers and helmet.
We scanned the bike naked. We scanned the bodywork alone and upside down.
We scanned just the fender.

So between all these scans, we should have some great info about this awesome bodywork made by Kent Riches at AirTech Streamlining. It has already been in the tunnel 3 times during its development so we probably won't find any improvements. But at least we will know one way or the other.

So CFD scanning is important for us.

Thanks, we look forward to some great results. I will post pics of the computer model once they are generated in .jpg format
