The deed is done. 1,059 miles around Lake Michigan in 22 hours

I ended up with 1290 miles in 22.5 hrs when I went for my 1000 miles iron butt trip, I figure that I need to go lil faster and less stops to make the 1500 next time, someone here have done it before maybe he will chime in soon.

It's a great accomplishment to ride that many miles at one time.
But I'm curious why with no disrespect meant its taking so long?
The reason I ask is because I left Robbinsville last year after breakfast, about 10am. It took me a while to wind down and out the mountains to get to I75 south. Total trip was just under 950 miles. I did it in under 12 hours.
I was home in SoFla around 9 or so. I was so wanting to get home I didn't even think about getting the odometer past 1k by going a little further. Now I wish I did.
It takes me almost 500 miles just to get out of Florida. I think I could just ride to the border and turn around, come home and have the 1k done. Is there some rule that says in order to get the award or whatever you can't cannonball it?

I think your math is off Blanca.. That would be averaging 79.2mph for the entire trip. Something that really isn't possible for 950 miles considering what, 4 fuel stops??

Math is on Bots. I was home in less than 12hrs.

It went something like this

I stopped once to eat some tacos south of Atlanta for about thirty minutes.
Other than that it was only fuel stops.

I took this pic a couple hours after I got home once the bike cooled off and I went to roll her inside.

SO seriously Blanca, you stopped for 30 min for food, and then at least 4 fuel stops (minimum 5 minutes each, probably more like 10) so you were on the road for less than 11 hours and did 950 miles? :dunno:

Now we're up to 86.4 mph average, and there's no way you AVERAGED that! I know you, and I'm not sayin' you're lyin' but I think you're times are off..

My time may be off by an hour or so. I will give you that.
I didn't time it totally but did record every second on the Gopro.
What can I tell you? You do know me, I barely ever ride. The trip up was the longest I'd ever done in my life.
Same for the trip back home. But I do know for sure I left the motel right around 10am. I about fell off the bike, went in and took a long shower, laid down for a bit and when bike was cool I went to roll her in and took that pic. So if everything I did after getting home was only an hour and not two than the trip took 12-13 hours.
And yes that was it.

I stopped here  for tacos...

and other than that only fuel.

I think I figured it out Blanca. You only went like 750 miles, not 950. If you did 950, google maps wants to know where the extra 200 came from.

:poke:

Proof is in the time stamps...

Loaded up shortly before I left. Still had to check out and I spoke to Keith for a few minutes.

My wife took this pic the moment I walked in. She was upset I kissed the dog first.

And like I said I took this pic it seems about an hour later..

And from my door to there it was 865 miles. The Tacos were so good that like an idiot I got back on I75 north and not south. I didn't even notice till I started seeing signs for downtown Atlanta. I was like...well I'm sure you can imagine the sounds in my helmet. But I had gone almost thirty miles north before I turned around and got going the right way again.
It added the extra miles to bring the home trip to just under 950.

Wow, you must really been flying then...

When I did my bash trip from Milwaukee I travel 725 miles in about 12 hrs.
For my Iron butt trip to Fl I travel 1290 miles in 22.5.
Both trips averaged 58-60 miles

Awesome accomplishment!
I do long rides, not long days.

And just so y'all know,
The IBA used to limit bunburner golds to 5 in a row. They changed their rules to accommodate WarChild. He did 7 in a row. Yes, that is 10500mi in 7 days!!
Well, that's what John Bolin said. And I believe him.
