1. National Coverage by HOT ROD Magazine.
2. ADDITIONAL RACE TYPE/STRUCTURE by POPULAR DEMAND:
We are providing the vehicle drivers with two (2) different race types from which to choose.
1. Fastest Acceleration Race and
2. MPH Accuracy Race
Motorcycle riders have predominately requested just the MPH Accuracy Race Type. This will remain the only race type for motorcycle riders.
Explanation and Structure of each race type:
1. Fastest Acceleration Race – Drivers are ranked based on the time it takes to reach the Tech / Top Speed for the chosen class. This race type begins with a standing start at point A (the beginning of the mile); there is no roll out. Drivers will run their vehicles up to the Tech / Top Speed for the chosen class and then continue through the rest of the mile at a speed of their choosing (not to exceed 7 mph over the Tech / Top Speed). Drivers will be allowed to exceed their Tech / Top Speed by 7 mph without disqualification. Winners will be determined by the fastest to reach the Tech / Top Speed.
2. MPH Accuracy Race – Drivers are ranked based on being the closest to the Tech / Top Speed for a particular class when crossing through the speed trap which is the last 132 feet of the mile. This race type begins with a 120-foot roll out, leading up to point A, which starts the mile and traveling to point B (the end of the mile).
Drivers will select only one race type. These choices can be found on the registration form as well as the different classes.
