After talking to some other guys who bought that model and others, they regret it. Besides being an expensive piece of gel you can't really tell if it's any better. Some of them are trying to get rid of them (selling). Some like it, I guess, knowing what you paid for it, you HAVE to like it. I like the stock seat and for long rides is just as comfortable the way it is.
I don't have one on my bike, but my riding buddy has one on his Busa. To me, that is a comfortable a$$ seat. No joke. It has more plush feel to it over stock. I have ridden his bike many times, and let me say that it's really a comfortable seat. I want to order one for myself, but since I have the Second Look seat skins, I'm not sure if they will fit over the gel seat. If I knew for sure that I could use my Second Look skin on the Gel seat, then I would order one in a minute. Just my .02, but it's sometime worth a million bucks.
I can't speak from personal experience because I still use and enjoy the factory seat. But other sport bike owners who do a lot of the sharp cornering manuvers (as in sliding your butt off to either side of the bike and having your knee drag on the ground) say that it hampers the "butt slide" quite a bit. Something you might want to think about if that is your style of riding.
I have a gel seat... I took my stock seat to a upholsterys shop. Let me put it to you this way, He threw the sheet of gel on top of a bar stool (no padding) and tossed a HUGE SET OF KEYS ON TOP OF THE GEL AND I SAT ON IT and I didn't even feel the keys. He removed the old fabric and put the over the stock foam pad and recovered the seat in leather. As far as size goes; the gel can be cut to fit any seat. Looks awesome and rides great. The first ride was oh about 750 miles for the weekend. NO PAINS. Oh yeah before any one asks.... I had both seats done for about $200 while denniskirk.com wanted $230 for a corbin front seat. I have no regrets about it
I replaced the stock seat with a Tobin seat and have not complaints. Great craftsmanship and quality. I also opted for the hump-pad. Check out the pic.
