Hey, Ba Busa... here comes yer sub frame.

Here's a little walk thru, mostly for the 99-01 guys, but there are a couple little tips that might be of interest to the noobs an' the vets.

...if yer gonna rip off that tail section, tape a little reminder about the cable that unlocks the hump. If you re-install that hump, forgeting to hook up that cable, yer in for a world of krud.

...been discussed b4. The how 2, for them lil plastic...

push in with screwdriver or similar...

c.jpg

...there are 2 screws,2 cargo bolts,2 allen head bolts,4 - 10 mm bolts, and 7 plastic fasteners...

then yer ready to remove the tail section. As you pull back, you'll have to disconnect some wiring.

Just gently pry apart...

e.jpg

...always tape EVERYTHING. You hear that boys an' girls.
Tape every connection,bolt,etc, etc...

it takes a couple extra seconds...but then you dont have to guess later.

Lets say yer pulling the tranny apart, then you find out parts are back ordered 3 months...

You gonna remember wher eveything goes in 3 months.

Jesus H Christ... I cant remember where I put my beer...

an' that was 30 seconds ago...

COMPRENDAI ?

...I like to mark on the frame, or in this case, sub-frame, where all of those RE-USEABLE tie wraps go.

4 marks... 4 tie wraps.

'course, I'll have to refer to this post later, 'cause Ba Busa is getting this subframe...and my tie wrap marks.

It takes 20 seconds...its worth it.

...yer in a gr8 position now to make any mods to the tail lite/turn signals....

and also, you have exposed the battery, the rear master, the brain box,etc...

may as well service all of that.

Remember boys n' girls...

Hook the positive side of the battery up first.(no sparks)
Don't leave the battery on the ground. (the earths magnetism will kill yer batt.)

...ever wonder what those 2 little plastic posts are.

They are supposed to hold the 2 rubber plugs that are nessecary for plugging the bottom of the fuel tank when you remove the tank from the bike. ( not applicable to 01 and newer)

... an look at that will ya.... Some bastid stole Rubbah's rubbers.

i.jpg

...this is where you'll find the connection to put the bike in "Dealer Mode".

might not make any sense now, but it will.

Jumping the wires here, gives you trouble codes(they appear on the dash) that can diagnose a problem.

...as you can see, you cant remove the tray, because Suzuki(in their infinate wizzdom) dicided to run the rear master cylinder hose thru the tray...

 no sweat...Rubbah fix # 28...

cut out a little section big enuff 4 the hose to fit thru.

now you don't have to disrupt the connection between the master cylinder(rear), and the master cylinder reservoir.

m.jpg

then, its just four more 12mm bolts, and yer holdin the sub frame, and that master stays intact.

...then you take a shop towel, an' clean off the sub frame...

'cause you don't wanna mail yer buddy a dirty sub-frame.

It's in the mail tomorrow Rich.

How am I supposed to fugg up the installation if I have detailed instructions

Nice, but you do not have to take off the pan section to remove the subframe.
