O.K....I got one for you.

My son has a childhood friend, they are both 22 now and have been friends for
years. And I am good friends with the family. However, his buddy is dumber
than a bag o' dirt.

You know how some people just don't have enough upstairs and should never
ever ride a motorcycle...my case in point.

His buddy buys a bike a couple of years ago...wrecks it, pretty bad wreck.
I think he breaks some bones (ankle I believe and fractured wrist).

So the kid gets some insurance money and decides he wants to ride again.

Mistake #1 - He goes and spends $8,900 on a USED cbr600. Was down at
the shop this weekend, they have a new ZX10R '08 for ....$8,900.

Mistake #2 - Kids riding home azzing around and following his girlfriend in an
eclipse. They take an onramp to fast, she runs up on another car, hits the brake
Shep the lost stooge, runs into the back of the eclipse. Smashing the crap out
of himself and the bike. They/he blame the guy in the other car :banghead:

I tell the Grampa...you need to get him off that bike, he's too (I'm being kind)
immature.

Mistake #3 - He starts to repair said bike with the cheapest fleabay parts he
can find, further depreciating a wrecked overpaid for bike.

O.k....here comes the latest and the kicker...

Mistake #4 - Bike is not quite finished yet and is lacking a few PARTS but
he wont wait and starts to ride it. It only has one headlight (no big deal) and...
and...(drum roll)
and...the parts haven't come in for his FRONT BRAKES....he's riding around with
ONLY A REAR BRAKE and....
and...
and...WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND ON THE BACK....WOW. :banghead:

nuff said ??? that would be funny except he's gonna hurt himself and someone else and that's not really all that funny.

i think darwin had it all figured out a long time ago to bad he didn't listen in class that day huh ?

Luckily he ended up with the over priced CBR, had he gotten the ZX10 this would probably be a R.I.P. thread

Unfortunately at 22 people feel invincible an that they know everything there is to know about everything in life... hopefully he survives, it many don't  At least try an save the girl that rides with him tell her parents something about the decision making of the young suitor

Good Luck an Gods Speed to all concerned....

PS... I am drunk off my ass an maybe you should disregard any thing I wrote,,,, first an final post of the evening,, I'll finish catching up on the forums tomorrow before i write something I'll regret.

if darwin had it figured out guys like him wouldnt exist.

Anyways, you need to man up and really say something, regardless of your comfort zone and kindness level. It bothers you enough to post about it so obviously you are a good man with a strong conscience.

I know its his business but now hes messing with the girlfriends life too. I would even go as far as alerting the local police about it and explain WHY you are alerting them...because you care... and that hes riding an illegal, no-front-brake-having motorcycle. He needs taught a lesson..but obviously wrecking isnt going to do it.

I feel for you and the situation he has put you in.

Some people just aint coordinated enough to ride. Simple Fact. Sounds like he should give it up before he dies. That's only my opinion.

:wtf:Your son hasn't figured out that his friend is the village idiot?

as mr. obvious would say... "well what you got there caller is what we call an organ donor"

Sometimes Darwin sends warning letters.

I think it'd be a good idea to sit down with his family, and then have an intervention.

If that doesn't work, bb's down the intake.

What does your son think of all this?

Something needs to be done before he kills himself as well as others.
