STP for chain lube??

Is anyone using STP oil treatment for chain lube? I've heard that it works well if brushed on sparingly, but I thought I'd run this notion by you guys first.

I've got a 2004 and I'm getting that "popping" in the front cog from time to time. Someone said that the chain wasn't properly lubed, and may be a bit loose. It's got about 1 to 1 1/4 inches total up/down movement.

I plan on cleaning the chain in kerosene and lubing it up and seeing how things go... just wondering about the STP.

Use PJ 1 Black Label or Maxima chain wax. WD40 works great to clean it with. Spray on a rag and wipe the crap off your chain and sprocket.
