Short answer.... either do a 'in-tank' conversion or just leave it where it is.

I have a '99 Busa and have just serviced my fuel pump with new filter and cleaned the gunked up pump screen... what a huge difference that made!!
No more lean surge at cruise in top gear and more power in general.
The air to fuel ratio is now 12:1 to 14:1 on average, from 16-20:1 as it was before the service.
The spark plug color is now amber on the porcelain insulator instead of white, with sooty deposits on the rim.
