Still Amazing After All These Years

Been seeing the Mighty Busa included in some fairly recent comparos with new motorcycles and it still holds its own. I think that is amazing considering the only update to the Gen 2 since introduction was ABS and Brembos which seems to have been a step backwards as reviewed. There are no complaints about speed or acceleration and usually the things they mention is wallowing in turns and comfort issues. These are all things easily fixed with a few tweaks and aftermarket parts. Heck, just putting my R77 Carbons on noticeably transformed the handling and made the bike more flickable. It's a testament as to how amazing the Busa was when introduced and how good the gen 2 still is even if it's old tech. I think I'll probably keep my 09 forever.

I feel the same way about my Gen 1, updated with Ohlins forks and braided brake lines, it holds it's own and does every thing I ask plus.

Ahhhh thats a great article...

BEST FASTEST BIGGEST: Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa
The 20th anniversary of big ’Busa is coming. The 1998 press event for this ’99 model is legendary for a day spent shredding Circuit de Catalunya in Spain, followed by a day of “street touring” on highways…at 185-plus mph! One of the greatest bikes of all time.

That is a great legacy...

Sure is especially when I get off my powerful KLR :D then back on the busa there is a bit of a difference regards to power
