starter problem

Ok so I just got my motor back together (replaced tranny)

when I try to start it, it sounds like the starter is spinning but not turning the motor...

the starter was fine before so I would not think starter clutch is bad....


the battery seems low...could a low battery cause the starter clutch not to engage? (picking up a charger today)

Sure sounds like the starter clutch. Put it in third gear roll backwards and pop the clutch. then try stating it. See if it makes any difference.
