Gang,

A buddy of mine tried to order a 16T sprocket for his Busa, and some rep told him they're no longer selling them due to safety issues.

Anyone know anything about this?

I'm a bit concerned because I just put an SS 16T sprocket on my bike.

If your buddy wants one I bought one and didn't even put 100 miles on it. I'll take $15 including shipping for it. I went back to the 17.

sorry...............hijack...............

dnolder..........why did you swap back to the 17?

Depends on your HP. Stock you will be fine.
You can loose teeth on por sprokets even if they are 18/19/20

I have heard of the 16T sprockets breaking teeth since there is more load on the other teeth with one missing, not sure if that is true or not.

I have no idea what you guys ae talking about... I have 16T up front and I have had absolutely positively no problems. I beleive the bike has had 16T most of its life as well. (has 24k on'er now.) Has a Regina race chain to go with it...

Safety issues.... well, if they are talking mechanically, I just haven't had any other then the speedo being way off. I have put maybe 7k on her since I got her.

Now if they are taking about safety issues because of the wheelies it pulls...well, then maybe.

chain is still tight as can be and I haven't needed to adjust it once...
