Sprocket....Chrome to powdercoat?

I have a brand new sprocket (Roaring Toyz) that one of my buddys gave me and its been sitting because its chrome and Im not really a chrome type of guy. My question is could I take a chrome sprocket to be powdercoated black and have no ill effects as far as strength and reliability? Thanks!

I don't think it would stick to the chrome correctly? You would probably have to strip the chrome off of it first and then pc it.

If it conducts electricity it can be powder coated.... I have powder coated Crome before... Where the chain rides it may ware off over time..

If you powder coat chrome it actually makes it look that much more shiny. If it is chrome and you powder coat it say blue, it will look chrome blue.

over chrome it would be too thick and dont think it would sit well in the chain without damaging the chain
