I have an 04 busa and I'm going to replace my rear sprocket with a vortex 43t. My front is a 16t. My question is, will I need a new chain for this setup. I have 13000mi on the chain and rear sprocket. I'm also at stock wheelbase.

With that many miles on the stock chain, You should replace it with the sprocket. Chains stretch and wear to match the sprocket. A stretched stock chain will not fit into the new sprocket as it should and it will cause excessive premature wear on your new Vortex. Spend the money up front and get the most mileage out of your new parts.
