As the others have said, replace that master cylinder, it's the only part of the system that is untouched.
It has seen better days for sure....I'm thinking this is your issue

How did you get pie crust crumbs in there? I hope the new MC resolves your issue.
What caused the MC to deteriorate? Moisture alone?

My guess would be poor maintenance and age.
It is all good bro , you are on to it , everything will be now be a new setup , and you should be well on the way to enjoying competent braking on your tasty ride . Looking forward to this next ride / brake test .

But did you order pie? Remember the proper sequence is pump lever, open and close bleeder screw, eat a fork full of pie and repeat while not getting crumbs into the system this time. Keep going until the pie is gone or your brakes work just by using telepathy whichever comes first.

Open , close , eat pie , you forgot to top up reservoir, rookie mistake.
Repeat process then vacuum up pie crumbs BEFORE continuing.

My bad, coffee is too harsh on your tummy I'm sure. Warm milk is more suitable for a person who eats pie with a fork...

There are forks especially designed for eating desserts and pie. I use a fork after all, I am civilized.I use a spoon
There were times in the bush when I ate a piece of pie with hands covered in gun oil, it added to the flavor.
