Speedo Plug/adapter

HI Guys,

I'm busy with a conversion from gen 1 speedo to gen 2 speedo, i seen a lot of the swap threads but there is not really the information i seek.

I have both the service manuals and want to know where can I buy a gen 2 or aftermarket socket for the gen 2 cluster(Speedo) that fits in there, wiring is not the problem now.
I need a adapter or plug that fits in picture.

any info will be gladly accepted

regards

interesting question.

- i seemingly found the (16 pin) gen1 speedo-plug in an austrian shop in vienna
(shop adress : xmas1.at & the gen1 - plug has their internal number "09445" + its female pins "09444")

so if you please can post an other pic of the gen2 harness´ speedo-plug
straight to its front to see all "noses" inside
and count the number of pins inside (following the electric gen2 scheme : 14 pins?)
perhaps they have this plug too ("Multilock")
or by chance they can order it somewhere

but i think they do not deliver outside europe

@Swiftfalcon

some minutes ago i got mail from xmas1.at
and they wrote that postal delivering to south africa wouldn´t be a problem.
(i guess some to USA or so)

shipping costs to SA
- for a postal package
- worth/value max. 100 euros
- weight max 2 kilogram
would be 23 euro
plus your customs / tax etc. .

duration about 8-10 working days

so mail them :-)
"X-MAS Motorcycle Electrics <mail@xmas1.at>"

so - as far as i understand their answering in principle they deliver all over the world.
the only problem is that their homepage is only written in german.

uuuh

I really don't want to discourage you
but no - google will hardly be able to help you.

even for ME! as a german in connection with my normal electronic knowledge
their catalog is a danger to me going crazy
as many articles and very difficult terms as they have on their homepage.

only a german who is crazy enough to take the time and searches their huge online catalogue can help you (and everyone else as well).

direct quote of their email 1:1 translated : "English will never exist, it took 25 years for more than 4000 catalog pages .... "
i already downloaded the catalogue - pdf for my workshop-pc - it has 803 megabyte and 4,189 pages
here is the link to their catalogue

the only other chance i see is to send them (mail@xmas1.at) very detailed photos (front & side) of the connector at the wiring harness or of the components connection.
so that they then can check their catalog themselves to see if they have it
or could get it elsewhere (already happened before)
