I get paid pretty damn good with all the ot I can stand, too. On top of that I really love doing what I do. I want to go on "fear factor" and yawn doing the stunts!Hey Diesel ......hope they're payin' ya "well" for that job. It would take alotta dough , to get my big a$$ up that pole .![]()
I normally work on our distribution lines which are 7200 volts. When it's raining it tracks over the rubber gloves and it feels like ants crawling on you.I wouldn't mide the hights as much as the electricity...![]()

Most of all the new subdivisions and nieghborhoods we do are all underground now, anyway, but the main feeders and branch lines are overhead. You couldn't afford elec. if everything was put underground. Also, when overhead stuff has a problem you can spot it and fix it quickly but underground fualts take a lot longer. You have to hook up all sorts of equip to find where it's bad, dig it up (by hand usually =sucks) then you can start to repair it.It's gonna cost a fortune if Florida Power & Light is coerced into doing a major conversion to underground facilities. Not to mention taking away the off-the-ground fun factor for you linemen.
