A fellow rider showed me this compact camera from oregon scientific (ATC2K Waterproof Action Cam). I found one today in sharper image for $99 and $25 for a 512mb sd card so i got it.
Its a compact self contained camera that records through a sd card. About 1 hour of 640x480 video on a 2mb card. I know some people would love to have such a cam so ill spread the find on with a review and a video.
Its a solid waterproof cam made more for action sports than high speed racing but it works as used also. To mount it for riding i took the rubber mounting band and streatched it round my helmet cause it dont come with a mount for a motorcycle. Then i twisted it in the case to keep the video upright. It can be mounted sideways or upright by twisting it in the case.
The video quality is ok, for trashy racing videos that will most likely be shitty cause of the high speeds and jarring bike ride any. I was dissapointed at the sound quality though. I think it MIGHT be better mounted behind the screen but i cant find a mount for this camera. I couldnt hear **** but wind noise.

My rating is 5 stars for the compact desighn. 3 stars for the video and -1 for the sound. I even tried to tape over the mike to actually hear the bike but it didnt work.
