So does anyone live near the ginormous sink hole

Just saw where a sink hole is forming in Daisetta, Texas. It is about 900 by 600 feet wide and 260 feet deep and growing. It has already ate a tractor and some oil field equipment. They believe that a salt dome used for storing oil may have collapsed causing the hole.

Lumberton is about 30 miles from there. The whole area has been, or still is oil fields. What comes out of the ground, well something has to take its place.
There are a lot of salt domes in the area. On my way to work each day I pass two that are in use. As a student pilot the practice area was over Bighill, the strategic oil reserves.
 
I love that CNN used "ginormous" in their headline.
 
Funny stuff, I mean Messed up, but the fact that they feel an oil well gushing salt water a Mile away "isn't related" is comical...

Actually the whole thing reminds me of why small towns scare the hell outta me...
