Snapping noise when starting???

Hello all,
I'm getting a snapping noise when starting up. No problems starting and it doesn't do it at all after it's started. Any ideas?

What year and how many miles ?

It's an 09 with 4K miles. Almost sounds like an electrical spark but a more pronounced snap only when starting.

Well, I don't know what happened but the noise stopped. I think it may have been where it was sitting for a while without being started or ridden. Maybe some old gas? Anyway, there's a fresh tank of gas and no snapping noise anymore. It's been great weather here in AZ. 83 degrees is perfect for riding. Wish it was like this year-around.
