small hose on thermostat ?

Hope its the right section here.

What is the task of the small hose on the termostate housing that runs paralell (on the front of the zylinderhead) to the main hose to the cooler ?

Can this be removed if the termostat is removed ?
i want to use a Laminova heat exchanger instead of original oilcooler.

(hope you know what i mean if termostat is not the right term for the thing that opens at 82° the cooling circuit)

it's overflow back to the radiator.. unless dry blocked even if thermostat is removed coolant will still flow out of it..you might can put a cap and clamp it off.
