Singing Gas Tank

My gas tank can get quite loud with a high pitched 'e' sound when the sun warms it up and the expanding gases are escaping. You can hear the sound from a good distance away.

I suspect this is normal . . . but am just checking to see who else gets it (so I don't feel so alone, boo hoo hoo :) ).

Same thing happens when I had my 98TL-R,it's the gas that is in you tank the vapors are trying to get out any where it can, that is why you're hearing those noise.

Singing gas tank ?!?! Can I be its booking agent for the top shows. First we'll do Leno, then Letterman....

We'll add a talking dog and do Broadway :)

Heheh, I figured it was normal. I knew it was from air expansion, but wasn't sure if there was supposed to a quieter method of allowing it to escape that might not be working.

I was thinking of Leno, but, darn it, the bike just can't carry a tune well enough.

How about Letterman's "Stupid Biker Tricks"?

The ZX12 cryer/choir was on the other night singing the Blues, folowed up with "Somewhere over the Rainbow".
