Sickest BUSA on the Block

That bike looks bad ass! I guess some people like PLAIN and others like custom. Definitely an eye catcher.

To each his own.

Yup, there's definitely a lot of paint on that Busa

Nice. Love everything except the seat. Get one from Corbin or Tobin.

Does that have blinkers or something mounted on the top part of the front fairing?

Junk.. Chrome's for Caddy's not Busa's
Now that' a LIE!!
I guess if you say so. I just can't understand why someone would alter somthing that was designed for ultimate performance to something that some feel would be astheticly pleasing to the eye at the cost of a great loss of performance.

I believe in "form follow function". If it don't make you go faster turn better or stop sooner it don't belong. And if it happens to look good and increase perfomance thats just a bonus.

That's why I think chrome's for caddy's and harley's. They look pretty but = 0 on the perfomance. Just my .02

Yep there are a few wild ones out there.......In my area today i saw a few Harley's with the 250mm
wide rear...looks cool and they were going right along...But my old 360K Volvo would out corner um..HeHe..Anyway..if it makes a Busa owner happy...to Mod like that..Good for them....Ah yes to personalize..anywhere in the World.. Personally i like "Sleepers" My Bagger Busa..

For my tastes and as far as what I'd want to ride daily (or weekly , or monthly in my friggin' case...) I think it's way over the top. As a painter, I see it differently. In that light I can appreciate why it was done like it was. Still, I think it's a bit too busy even from a custom painter point of view. It just doesn't "flow". And yes, even a wild custom can, and should flow. Your bud's busa has too many elements competin' for my eyes' attention. All elements are fine and appear to be well done, it's just that some of them work against the others.

Fwiw, my taste in daily rides leans more toward cleaner, classier, more understated two tone schemes and solid color jobs with tasteful and well thought out accents (logos, badges, etc...). I could live with some "race inspired" accessories and/or accents, but the balls out custom jobs just ain't my ride...

As for your title to this thread... Maybe on his block it's the sickest, but don't park it on Steve Nunez' block. He does the sickest and arguably the BEST QUALITY sport bike paint jobs available right now from what I've seen.

those wheels are SICK!!!! Did he by any chance have that painted by COLOR ZONE in CA? The reason i ask is because i had them paint a custom GSXR600 for me ( 4800.00!!!) and the paint was awesome, it looks like some of their work.

If you guys want a bike that can handle the corners better then anything you shouldn't be lookin at the busa. You should be more interested in the gsxr750 or the gsxr1000.Lets face it lowering this bike and stretching and adding nos,air shifter and a couple of mods to it,didn't take any time off the top speed.Sounds and looks like to me a couple of you bashers have some beef stuck between your teeth.

I can respect anyone who has the balls enough to make something like this.
I can see where Revlis has a point in that I see many people build mint perfect machines and trailer them to shows.....never get driven or even started because they worry about turning their headers blue.

I say if you build it drive it...if you trailer it you are a tool (not directed at you Kyle, but I have seen a lot of trailer hoppers)

Bike looks great.... not crazy about the seat.
Hope you ride the piss out of it....as a busa should be ridden.

Kyle... If you don't think a stock Busa can handle...
Well All I can say is you haven't ridden the Bitch!!!

No it isn't the absolute best handling bike sold...
But it sure isn't too far from the top either.
90-95% of the time the difference is the rider.
I've seen some Busas hand "Handling" bikes their lunch.
Even done it once or thrice.

As for the thread topic... I'm not much for "customizing"
I like a kewl paint job but my taste leans towards something
a litte less busy. It does look high quality tho...

If you want a blingmobile, fine. I can appreciate what you've done to your bike and why you done it. Don't go actin' like the busa doesn't handle though. As someone else mentioned it's mostly about the rider. The busa will handle better than a HUGE percentage of the sport riders on the road can ride. Personally there's a limit to how "fast" I'm willing to hit twisties on the street. The busa handles fine up to my self imposed limit and seems to have more to spare. My experience is that if I have the balls to push it, it pulls through and asks for more.

I almost traded my busa for a litre bike or 600 so I could hit the twisties harder at one point. The people here that know how to ride convinced me that the busa had WAY more abilities than I gave it credit for. I decided to slowly push MY limits and hold onto the busa until MY limits were outside her's. Hasn't happened yet.

Again, I have no problem with you turnin' yer bike into a bling mobile. I'll give ya the thumbs up if I meet you in the road or tell you it's sweet if I see it at a hangout. What I can't stomache is folks who go talkin' about how the busa won't handle. 99.9% of the time it seems that the ones who say this are folks who can't/don't/won't ride hard enough in their lifetime to hit the busa's true limits. To hear some folks tell it, you have to get off the busa at the corners and set the ass end around by hand to aim it down the next straight, then jump back on and blast in a straight line until you stop and set it around at the next corner. Truth is, it ain't nowhere close to that at all...

Well being that this is your first post on this forum and it is regarding your bike I will attempt to better explain myself.

I do understand that the liter bikes and less get around the corners better on the track. The Busa makes a great steet bike. It has all the power and about as much handling as you need to dominate any other bike on the street providing you are a good rider and can handle your machine.

Kyle, I never said I didn't like your bike. I just said I didn't understand why someone would do the mods that you have done. I never bashed you or your bike, I just needed clarity my son. No beef here, only at the track.

Now if you were building a dedicated track bike the swingarm the nitrous and the air shifter would be necessary or else you'd get crushed by the next guy that had it on his bike.

....Still not sure where all the chrome and heavy components come in. Don't get me wrong it's very sparkly and looks pretty I just don't see how it would be on a bike that is designed to be the fastest production motorcycle in the world. It's kinda' like taking the OZ Magnesium wheels off a Ferrari and replacing them with 20" spinners
rock.gif
Or replacing all the carbon fiber components with steel. Ya just wouldn't do it.

Anyway, welcome to the board. Chrome or not you will learn many things about your bike and meet some pretty cool people. Hey, atleast it's a Busa. Look down at the sig.. that's where I keep my beef.

Hey Grabntwist..awsome HP and torque...question ? Stock bore and stroke...That much gain in porting,cams,exhaust....PCIII..Awsome..
wow.gif

Bone stock it pulled 159.9 After Carpenter Racing was done with it, it pulled 196.7 . I little more tuning and good conditions and good dose of VP Ultimate 4 it clocked 207.6
