"Bloodthirsty?" Pleeeease...agreed, it's a sorry and troubled society that executes its citizens but he created this state of affairs by his own choices. If I killed someone unjustifiably, I would expect to be executed. He should pay in full--now!!!

As a security threat group specialist (gang officer) in the Illinois DOC, I have listened to many phone calls, read many letters from and even helped get off the streets a few high ranking shot callers in some of Chicago's most violent gangs. The damage that they can do from behind the wall can be just as violent as out on the street. Tookie only got procecuted for what he was caught for, I can just imagine what this oxygen thief accomplished in his 25 years behind bars. The world will be a better place without him.

He still has rights, thats why it takes so long to carry out the execution. He has go throught he appeal process. We dont have to let him have phone calls, but we cant deny mail. We cant read every letter coming in to the facility. We have 1200 inmates and 3 gang officers here, its just not possible. When they do talk on the phone, we learn alot about the happenings on the street, or maybe the shooter in another crime.
Dont worry lot boy you can say and do ( to an extent )what you want here in this great land.

Well, all I can say is I respect your opinion, I just don't understand it. But, that's just me and my background dealing with sick murderers and genecide nut cases all over the World. I've seen hundreds of deaths by out and out crazys (Rwanda, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Angola and others) for absolutely NO REASON AT ALL except to kill someone!
Do yourself a favor, DON'T leave the US for an African or Mid East Trip! I'll asure you, you want like it !

Another area that I agree with 100%. Jail should be where you spend a lot of time contemplating what you did.
NO TV.
NO PHONE.
NO PRIVELIGES WHATSOEVER.
All the bleeding hearts out there have made jail time nothing more than a freakin' vacation.
One of the largest problems in law enforcement now...especially this time of year, is keeping criminals from re-offending just to GET BACK IN.
Prison needs to be a place that NO ONE wants to go to. EVER.
We are not nearly tough enough on criminals in this country. I firmly believe in capitol punishment.
