No one person has the right to kill another.

BUT,
a society of people do have the right to put someone to death, who knew the rules(that there is a death penalty if you murder people) and still commits the act.

Life in prison is not nearly enough punishment for him.

do u think it's fair that tookie's family can go visit him in  prison while the people that he killed families have to go the cementary to visit thier loved ones?

You're 100% right.  LIFE ISNT FAIR.
And my tax $$ are being spent in ways that is another topic all together.
This man murdered 4 people.  Eye for an eye is how I see it.  Jail is cake...prison for that matter is even easier!  He has it better now that people I know that WORK and bust their asses to support their families!  
I dont want to support someone who killed others for no damn reason.  
Harbor made a HELL of a point..is it fair that these families get to visit GRAVES while their killer can see his family during visitation hours?  Nope.  Killing him will send more of a message to the "gang bangers" than he could ever imagine.
"this is what happens when you are in that life"  You will end up in jail...or you will die on the streets".

I think it is all fine and good that he has "rehabilitated" himself. Very touching that he has written books and all.

In my opinion, when he killed those innocent people, he punched his own ticket. The only frustrating thing is that we've had to pay for all these years to keep his sorry azz alive.

Get it over with. Should have been done a long time ago.

There was a case in TX where a woman who was on drugs killed two people. Then in jail she "found God" and became some saint. Then wanted to not die, but serve life.
She was sent to death. You cant just say "oh look at me Im a better person after killing these people"
You knew right from wrong when you took their lives. Dont act like it just hit you when you're a grown ass adult.
 
dont want people to think that i am a saint or mr. perfect cuz i am far from it. actually i spent 8 1/2 years in prison for drug trafficking so ive been on both sides

i would agree he has it better than us working chumps--that just proves how lame it is on the outside-
the gang bangers could care less about tookie or his message--his death is only going to make a few blood thirsty citizens feel like they have recieved justice-
i must say tho , i wouldnt suprise me if the gangs dont use this for an excuse to riot--any reason to get free stuff is a worthy one-

Yep...guess what...I too can speak from PERSONAL experience! Nope Im really not some dumb blonde talking out of her ass.
All in all it was 5 years with time served and probation.
And guess what...JAIL IS CAKE! I did learn my lesson, dont get me wrong...but for someone with nothing...that place is perfect. Cable TV, three meals, a warm bed, games, etc.
Some people can change...Looks like Harbor and I (and im sure we arent the only felons on here!) were given that chance. However...WE didnt kill people.
And Im pretty sure that when he was brought up on murder charges, that it WASNT his first time in front of a judge!!

Yeah, I think it is all over for Tookie at this point. It is sad that it takes close to 30 years for certain sentences to be carried out. In the same token I'm sure there have been some innocent people executed. I don't think that was the case this time. Come on this dude co-founded the Crips.

I do sometimes feel as if vengence may not be ours to decide whether criminals should die. However, certain people should be killed immediately i.e. DC snipers, Scott Peterson, and all the psycho moms that drive/push/throw their kids off bridges, lakes, etc. and say that a voice told them to.

As far as the activism behind trying to spare Tookie, I feel that sometimes people back the wrong causes. I could see if there was some solid evidence that is screaming that Tookie might be innocent, yet that has yet to be seen.

Hopefully Tookie has made peace with God, cause only that matters at this point.
 
Yeah...good point. And WHY, may I ask did it take so F*CKING LONG to make this happen??
There should be a law saying if you cant get your appeals in within X amount of years, you're done.
 
now that i have thought about it im going to have to agree with you all--i want blood just like the rest--eye for an eye--as a matter of fact i think we should "execute" him in public,,you know like the old days--we can bring drink, food and our kids and have a good ole time!
ya see this way every one can get lernt real proper like why you shouldnt join gangs!

No..but you can get "learnt real proper like" on WHY YOU DONT KILL PEOPLE!
They should make executions public. I feel no pity for people like that, no matter WHAT they did while in prison.
