It's a bit late now, but I started thinking after replacing my magneto cover the other day that maybe I should have put some thread lock on the bolts that hold the coil and electronics to the cover. I put some on the cover bolts themselves but not the internal components.
When I took them off I didn't see any signs that any had been used before. I'm curious, has anyone here changed their cover, and did you use any? Will contact with oil on the threads make it come loose? Should I bother buying a new gasket and performing the change again? I tightened them as tight as I could get them without stripping the hex bolt.
Any feedback will help me make a decision.
