Setting Factory Shift Light

After 3 years I thought I would get around to setting the factory shift light(and after bouncing off the rev limiter[even after having Johnny Cheese raise the rev limit another 500 rpms when he flashed my ECU]a couple of times on my last outing).Found a video on YouTube and while watching it(my monitor is about 6' from my bike)it literally took me maybe 30 seconds to set so wanted to post it up in case anybody else was curious about setting theirs up.

I should have noticed the green neutral light in the video but I didn't. So side note you can not get to the shift light settings the with the bike in gear. The bike has to be in neutral for this to work. Once again thank you piratediverjefff for your help!

At least in my 09 the cutoff switch needs to be in the run position also.

I know this is an old thread but I had a similar question to this. I had an 08 and now I have a 2017. If I set the shift to be on and I turn the bike off, the next time I turn the bike on, will the shift light still be on? Thanks
