scuff marks on chrome

I accidently put some scuffs on one of my chrome tubes putting them back in the trees. Can anyone suggest how I can get the scuff marks off ?
The scuffs are not bad but just the sight of them irritates me !!!

Turtlewax rubbing or buffing compound depending on the depth of the scratch

If you can feel the scratch with your fingernail it may be something you have to live with...wax or other sealers will keep it from rusting (if it is steel underneath). can you post a pic?

Mother's will be a great help here UNLESS its a deep scratch. Like noted above, if you can feel it with your fingernail, your screwed.

Never dull cleans up rust streaks and protects the scratch with a sealer of some sort. A nasty looking bumper can be cleaned up in about 5 minutes...it might be worth a try.

Uhhh really:butbut: maybe on copper.

I wouldnt suggest steel wool on chrome.


Even tooth paste will act as a very light rubbing compound for removing light scratches on glass. Thats the minty tip for the day
