Craftsman random orbital 3D detail sander. It's the small one with three 3/4"-1" wheels on it. It's about 30 bucks USD.

Like thisin' right here. (southern accent)

thanks Grab , I have a detail sander , it just seems to be taking forever , the shiddy soft plastic is gummin' up the paper . I've tried a dozen different grits , an' 3 different paper types so far.....

Sand em quick with 400 wet.
Then high build primer to fill the craters.......apply high build fairly thick, so ya have lots to sand down.....sand with 400 till smooth, then scotchbrite to make sure ya don't see sanding marks.
Worked awesome on mine, and took no time at all......glass smooth.
If this was on a panel that flexed alot, this wouldn't be the best way, but since they really don't flex at all, it should be fine.......I did a test panel first and flexed it by hand, and it didn't crack the paint.
I love that smooth painted look...really finishes the bike off.

I haven't sanded a set yet so I can't help. One thing I can tell ya is that you have to slow yer sander down a bit on plastic. Seems to gum up the paper worse at higher speeds. I assume the dash panels would be the same.
