My bike has no real performance mods... just a tre and 17/43. What rpm can I launch at without making the bike 12 o'clock on me? I've never tried a serious launch yet and just curious where to start. Thanks.

It'll only come up if you throw the clutch out. The trick is to get the throttle wfo as fast as you can. The right rpm for a good launch depends entirely on what you are comfortable with. Launch just like you would if a bike pulled up next to you on the street and you wanted to put him down, it ain't gonna flip. If it comes up too quick, ease off. Just don't panic, you'll be fine.

It's more in clutch control than RPM. That said, I'm launching between 4000 and 5500 depending on track conditions and how I'm doing on reaction time with the lights.
