ROUGH IDLING

i went to look at that busa this week end. i noticed it was idle kinda rough (compared to the R1 at least). The guy had 2 slip on yoshis with no power commander.

I ran into another guy on sunday. His busa was idling kinda rough too . Said he had fuel remapped with no PC

why is that ?

I think most Busa's idle a little rough. I know mine has since it was new. The nature of the beast!

It smooths out once you get the revs up to 2K+ and put a load on the engine.

I notice that the idle is a bit rough compared to other bikes, and when she's warm and you give her some gas, it doesn't smooth out until the revs come up a bit. After that, pure joy!

Check your idle set, it should be at about 1100 rpm when warmed up. They tend to drop the idle speed over the first year, there are a lot of threads on this. Low idle will cause you a lot of headaches. I have mine set up at closer to 1400 and have no troubles.

Slip ons don't need a Power Commander. Be sure your bike is set to idle at about 1250 rpm. Like the other guys said, they idle a little rough.

The 'Busa likes to growl and grumble at you when it's idling.

It's the bike's way of complaining that you're not twisting the throttle....

Dad (GSXCite) says it sounds like a thrashing machine! I have to agree!
