Roll call thread for ECU flashers

I'm in for the complete system to log/tune on my own... ;)

Thanks for the all the work on this Greg...

This stuff looks wonderful. But, where do I find a tuner in the Idaho Falls area, that can do more than change a spark plug?

I'm ready for one for sure. Just wondering if anyone will make premade maps available to get into the ballpark for those without a tuner or dyno? Let me know when they are available and the price in a pm, thanks.

Fellaz, SKYZ THE LIMIT NOW WITH THIS "ECU EDITOR"(and its not even at a 100% yet)! I REALLY urge anyone looking to buy a PC or Bazzaz to really look into this new way. Its really not all that complicated once you get into it, I would just advise taking some time and start reading up on EVERYTHING you can find on this subject(ECU HACK SITE).
As far as the "ball park maps" go, I noticed that on the Gen1's the guyz have a dedicated place to "MAP SHARE" on a forum. Well WE(.ORG)could do the SAME EXACT THING, we ask the moderators to give us a "PINNED" thread for just that. A thread that we could list all our mods in very great detail and then "share" that map for anyone to use! Just think how many there would be in 6 months, a year.....?? AND THE BEST PART IS ITS ALL FREE SOFTWARE!! IMHO, its the LEAST we could do, to even attempt to "PAY BACK" or Contribute to what Petrik & Crew have done for us thus far? :beerchug:

i think the main thing i want to happen w/ my 08 ecu,is to have the timing retard in the first 3 gears removed,is that part of the flashing?
thanks

once people start using them we can share maps, but like I said there are a couple of people total doing this on the K8's so far so not much to share.

Thats what I meant Greg:thumbsup: I just remember seeing on a un-named forum where Gen1 guys where listing all the modz and then giving a link to access there map. :beerchug:

Id take one. Question, im running two pc3s right now so is there any way that i can set up the flash in a similar fashion, have the second set of injectors come in at 7k and so on??

Jeez, think of the stuff you could throw away with direct access to the ECU.
I would do it in a second if I knew any competent tuner in my area.

Spoke to Rick today, last night after we flashed it, he ran 6th gear up to 12,800 RPM indicated, so its a workin :)

Well I think Petrik would be the best guy to answer this question...... But I would venture to say YES, seeings how your ECU controls Both set of injectors all the time in theory(even though the second ones dont fire until 7000rpms). Any map being modified the ecu should work the secondaries just like STOCK.

thats the sweet part about ecu vs power commander, all you have to worry about is the fuel table, the ecu will still control both injectors the way it always has, you just tell it i want more fuel wherever you want it, and it will control both injectors to give it etc.

Uhhh...yeah....not much out here for bikes. If I were you I would maybe try Mountain West Suzuki in Pocatello (not 100% sure that's the exact name). The guy that owns(ed?) that drag races Busas. Can't guarantee the info as I lived there about 6 years ago, but that would be where I would start if it was me.

Edit: Here is some info from his site Floydv, hope that helps you out....looks like the info isn't out of date : )

Welcome to Mountain West Suzuki. In addition to our full lineup of model year 2007 Suzuki motorcycles and ATVs, Mountain West specializes in high performance streetbikes and racebikes. We currently drag race street legal hayabusas and support other forms of motorcycle racing.

Than you very much!

The gen2 also includes the shifter function which turns the ecu into a kill box for your air shifter or quick shifter, i have being using it and it's flawless..

Ok, sounds good on the sharing thing. Now, I was playing around with the software in anticipation of using it and how do you get rid of the Timing Retard in the first whatever gears? I didn't see anything in the menu and the timing chart had no info either? I know this is trial software, so is this going to be added somewhere in the menu later? Thanks for any info. :please:

I haven't had much time to play with ECU editor 2.o (new version), in the old version, as soon as you clicked the timing table, you would get a message saying all gears would be flashed with the current table (which is the 5th gear table). Now Petrik was saying the 08's the 6th gear ignition table is the only one with more timing in the low rpm / low throttle ranges, like the gen 1s did in 5th gear. Petrik has been out of town for almost 2 weeks and is just getting back. his personal bike is now a gen 2 busa, so look out, software goodies will be coming out like crazy i bet :)

yep, currently there is two things that makes tre redundant.

1) When you remove gear limiters you also remove the 6th gear limitation. maybe that could be named differently.
2) When you first time access ignition maps it copies the ignition maps for all gears to be the same, the map that has most advance.

Anyway there is also one feature to be know about current ecueditor testversion. it copies the maps without optimizing those for A/B/C maps. The A/B/C still have secondary throttles as stock, but ignition and fuel unified. I am still thinking what would be the best way to implement A/B/C mapping. Personally have never used A/B/C, just A - but for quartermile track it could be good to have some launch control type of setting for lower RPMs to control the power delivery.

ps. read many boards regularly, including also this one. Just time limitations prevent me to participate to most of the discussions in detail. Greg (smithabusa) is so much more better for dealing with the multitude of questions.

YUP! EXACTLY, what Greg said! I asked the same question to Petrik and yes, when you flash the 08 ECU it will automatically use 6th gear timing group. The 1-5 groups are really NOT needed for us power hungry folkz......the only reason I can come up with as why Suki did it this way was to "TAME" the beast a little in lower gears. :banghead:

OOOPPPS, Guess PETRIK AKA "THE MAN!", posted while I was typing......Sorry bout that. Glad to see your back Petrik, hope you had a GREAT trip Bro.
