Rode another bike yesterday

Hey y'all,
Well I talked my brother-in-law into buying a bike. He started looking and found a local 01 Katana 750 with about 2000 miles. It's been layed down on the right side but no major damage.

My bro wanted me to give it a spin just to check it out. It took me several miles to figure out that NOTHING was the matter with the bike. I rode and rode, all the while thinking that something was the matter and robbing precious power. I'd downshift and give a handful of throttle,...no need to tighten my legs to the tank...no rearward G's...no immediate grin on my face. Well something had to be the matter, Right?
Nope, I guess I have been riding the busa too long.

Is there any help for me? Am I ruined forever? Is there no hope of me enjoying another bike?

Probably not, but I don't care. My name is Chris and I'm a Busaholic. :alcoholic:

DOOD,

I feel the same way!  I rode my buds busa, and in less than 2 months my Honda was long gone.  Now I have put money down on a Bus and just waiting on tha bank!  I am addicted, BIG TIME!  Isn't it great?!?!?  The only thing that might help you is an 04 with 1400ccs/more power.  But, then you still would be a Busaholic!   :super:  :bounce:  :super:

ha ha - good write up !! BTW - was there any doubt that the Katana would be unimpressive compared to your bad ass ride !!!

Hey... I have a 2002 750 Katana sitting in my garage next to my Busa. Its just like my Busa too. 2 wheels, check. 4 cylinder inline suzuki engine, check. 3 disk brakes, check.
Headlight, tail light, 6 speed transmission, check.

Ummm....Did I mention it was for sale???

 ;)

Thats how i got hooked ...rode a friend's busa, feel in love, and put the yamaha on the blocks... Been Busafied every since!

My name is Dez and I'm a Busaholic

Since I get the Busa I have ridden three other bikes. A 2002 ZX9R, a 2002 H.D. Dyna Lowrider, and a 2003 GSXR1000. The Nine I loved for the comfort and brakes, The Harley...Uh...The GSXR? Man the thing was pretty neet, and I know it is supposed to be able to keep up with the Busa and all but it just didn't have the right feeling. I mean you twist the throttle and yeah it goes, but it just wasn't the same. Not to mention it was just kinda tiny...

Yessir, I have been ruined for all other bikes...

My Name is Rev, and I am a Busaholic...

Man! How could you let him buy the 750?!!! Just think how he's going to feel when he rides yours (not likely, right?!) and sees how things could have been?

That's just evil...

After 600 miles, one crushed finger, my very first oil change done by yours truly, and a good twist of the throttle now that Caesar's broken in...I'm definitely a Busaholic!

I picked up a '97 Katana 600 for the wife last week because she wants a sportbike in addition to her cruiser bike. I rode it 40 miles home on saturday from the mechanic getting a look-over and it's definitely not a Busa.

It only got to 35 mph in first gear, but has some decent acceleration if you keep the rev's above 7k. I might have to take it on the twisties.

We took a short ride together on saturday and a ride on the highway to go buy her a decent sportbike jacket. She rides cruiser bikes really well, but she got a little flustered after coming to a stop on a off-ramp and she dropped the bike. She didn't get hurt but the Katana lost a left mirror and turn signal. Got to the bike accessory store and they had Katana mirrors on the shelf. :) I have to go pick up a new turn signal today.

Got a killer 50% off deal on a two-piece leather Frank Thomas suit with the 360 degree zipper for her. I'll have her on the track within the month.

I had a Thundercat (YZF600) before I buy the Busa... Well, last year I went on a ride with friends, we parked the bikes and I had to go to a cash machine to raise some money. My Busa was parked in the middle of other bikes, so a friend of mine gave me it's YZF600 keys and I went riding to the cash machine.

First impression: when I sit on the bike I asked myself "where is the bike?"
Second impression: another question "how come I see so MUCH road looking at the fork / panel area?!?!?!?"
(started engine and there I went)
Third impression: "hell, the bike isn't running... it's walking!"
Fourth impression: "aaaargh, full throttle, this junk doesn't move below 8000rpm!!!!!"
Fifth impression:"breaks?"

After I came back I just looked at my Busa once again and I had to admit: my name is L4G4RT0 and I am busaholic...

A MAJOR VIOLATION HAS OCCURED ON THIS FORUM.
SANEMAN POSTED PICKS WITH A KATANA IN THE SAME
PHOTO AS A HAYABUSA. THIS IS A VIOLATION (Hayabusa.org protocol, chapter 2 sect 4 paragraph 3 states in no uncertain terms: "Hayabusa's can only be photographed alone with no other accompanying motorcycles except in a race when the busa will clearly be way out front. Violation of this protocol calls for total banishment from the forum for a period of no less than 24-hours." First offenses get off with a warning.

Just kidding of course....where did you get tank bra with Kanji
hayabusa logo?

oh yeah......and some total stranger at a dealer told me I would never drive another motorcycle after buying a busa. I would totally love the bike.

I went home did some more research....went to this great forum....read some of your witty and intelligent comments and two weeks later I bought a Hayabusa.

My name is babuski (Russian for "Revlis teaser") and

I AM A BUSAHOLIC

They are both Suzuki's, and at opposite ends of the spectrum, so I thought it would pass muster. :tounge:

The seat and tank protector has the Kanji and I got them at Second Look

You guys are cracking me up today! Is it just me, or do you feel somewhat sorry for the poor guys/gals that only have (insert inferior bike name here)...hell, I live with a poor sap and his Harley...best I can hope for is that my little boys grow up knowing better!

Think that feeling is one of the 12 steps to greatness?! :tounge:

A friend just purchased an 02' CBR F4i. Now I know CBRs aren't as known for power as others (ie R6 or GSXR600) but I noticed a few things...

1- I was sitting on the equivalent of a small scooter or flag pole

2- A strong twist of the throttle yielded no elevated heart rates, quick gasps for air or strong clinching of abdominals to prevent being thrusted on the pavement at 100+

3- There was what seemed to be a passing of gas or farting when the throttle was opened (small exageration)

I returned home torn between excitement or shame because I new I was truely addicted.
