Today’s World Superbike Superpole has been cancelled following a horrific four rider crash during one of the Australian support class races.

Unfortunately there has been a tragedy and reports from Phillip Island say that one of the riders has passed away and the police are now present to investigate the incident.

UPDATE:

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that Australian Superstock 600cc racer Oscar McIntyre age 17, succumbed to the injuries sustained during the crash.

The two other riders involved in the incident, Luke Burgess and Michael Lockart have received medical attention and Burgess is currently under observation with non life threatening injuries.

Twowheels would like to extend its deepest condolences to the McIntyre family and friends.

RIP!

Rider skill on the edge, specific conditions at crash time, more than one ultra fast rider all clustered at that level, and just simple fate. At our own levels, we all do this dance, at 17 years of age the tragedy is doubled....so much left to experience but cancelled out....all we can do is be sad and respectful.

+1 Very well put....RIP brother!

Man Super Sic and now this kid.

RIP, let none forget that he did more with life in 17 short years, than most will do in a life time of worry.

Prayers go out for the family of this young racer.
